Welcome to Letters from Lakeshia

A Space for Truth-Tellers and Becoming

I’ve spent most of my life searching for safe spaces—places where I didn’t have to shrink, perform, or explain myself just to belong.

That’s why I created this one.

Not to be anyone’s guru. Not to sell some perfect version of healing. But because I know what it feels like to carry stories in silence, wondering if they’ll ever have a home.

This space is for the quiet fighters. The late bloomers. The ones learning to come home to themselves, one truth at a time.

You’ll find letters from the messy middle. Reflections from a Black Southern woman who’s still healing out loud—and making room for others to do the same.

No sign-ups yet. No membership required. Just real words, from a real place.

If you’re looking for somewhere honest to land, you’ve found it.

What I Value Here

I don’t lead with my pain, but I don’t hide it either. I value:

  • Truth, even when it’s messy.

  • Support, not quick fixes.

  • Growth, not perfection.

  • Empowerment, not performance.

You don’t need a polished version of your story to be seen here.

What You’ll Find Here

  • Writing rooted in lived experience

  • Resources for reflection and release

  • Honest stories, gentle encouragement, and updates as they come

  • A culture of grace—where “figuring it out” is enough

Whether you’re skimming quietly or reading every word, you belong here just the same.
